I am having a problem with white roses....I recently purchased white roses from the co-op, brought them home cut, put in water, same with the white rose spray......my cooler is out at the moment, but I did process them like I always do, let them drink about two hours, had a bride who was taken her pictures the next day. I made her bouquet which was on Thanksgiving Day that evening......kept them in a room at the temp of 60, but the next day I notice that ALL of the roses as well as the spray roses were turning black at the tips....could someone please tell me what happened what did I do wrong????

Thank you....

I am looking for a dark pink rose variety that is closer to red. Less blue undertones. Any suggestions?

I am very new to the floral industry and have a question about roses.  There are so many varieties wow!  I have ordered Sonrise roses for my promotional Mother's Day vase arrangement.  I believe the roses were cut on Sunday and will be shipped to me on Tuesday of which will arrive on Thursday of this week.  It is the first shipment of roses I have ordered.  I am wondering if I will be able to use them in my arrangement for my promotion (May 9 to May 11) as to the vase life.  Thanks!

Merci d'avance.

Cordialement.

Laetitia

Has anyone seen the Manitou rose in person? Is it really orange or more of a coral color? I'm looking for a coral color rose, a mix between orange and pink, and having trouble finding one since there are so many varieties of coral. Any suggestions?

Rose turtle - my new favorite! so fragrant and an awesome antique-y creamy yellow. Looks like a garden rose to me. I wonder what makes a garden rose a garden rose? And what's up with that name, turtle!? But you know, 'a rose by any other name'....ha ha

Has anyone seen the rose impulse in person?  How is it?  How does it open? Vase life?  Is it more orange than coral?  What about High and Booming?  A nice coral?  How does it open?  Thank you!

Spring Cleaning !!!!

Does anyone remember the red rose "Preference" ? What about yellow "Timeless" ? Peach "Sonia" ? Or that classic  bi-color "Super Disco"?
As much as I loved them all,  it was time to do a little spring cleaning. I just removed a couple hundred of these old varieties which are no longer grown in an effort to focus on what's really being grown and sold out there these days and to make room for all the great new pics and varieties growers and breeders are adding each week !

Next job Alstro!

We recieved a sample of the new green rose variety posted recently on the site called " Green Beauty". It looked amazing and has a huge bloom and great color. The only problem is that it was sent with a fairly tight cut stage and never opened.
My theory is that many of these new, heavy petal count varieties need to be sent with an open cut stage to ensure they will open and perform.
Any growers have an opinion on this?
