Alstromeria Discussions

Translation: EN FR ES DE
How do you spell Alstroemeria?  I see several spellings used in the industry; Alstromeria (as used on this site), and sometimes Alstremeria but most commonly with the "oe".  Does anyone know which is correct?  Another little Wiki called Wikipedia uses the "oe" version...

OK...this in an interesting one and show the way in which etymologies of words can diverge over time between different language groups or cultures.

In fact Alstromeria AND Alstroemeria are both correct.  Stealing from the etymology info of the aforementioned wikipedia....:  The genus was named for the Swedish baron Clas Alströmer (Claus von Alstroemer 1736 - 1794) by his close friend Carolus Linnaeus.  Admittedly I am not a expert but from what I understand, in common english "ö" is phonetically oe, but the e is often dropped from written language thus both spellings being technically correct.
