  •  Ask for date coded roses to guarantee freshness.
  •  Many new varieties are introduced each year, most offering better vase life and striking new colours.
  • Cold chain management from grower to consumer drastically improves vase life.

Grading Information

  • Spray roses are graded by stem length in cm and packaged in 10 stem bunches.
  • Stem length should be measured top to bottom.
  • Blooms should be unmarked and the guard petals present.
  • Foliage should be deep green with no markings.

Grower and Breeder Information

  • Leading Breeders ( 2010) : Olij Rozen, Meilland, Lex, Schreurs, Franko Roses, Rosen Tantau, De Ruiters, Kordes, Preesman, Interplant, NIRP , Terra Nigra, Esmeralda Breeding.

  • Spray Roses should be packaged for export using absorbant paper, polypro plastic sleeve and square pack cardboard protector.
  • Each bunch of export quality spray roses should have variety name.
  • Cut stage should be the tightest possible cut that will still ensure that the blooms open properly.
  • Florist quarter boxes containing 8 or 10 bunches of spray roses are increasingly popular.
  • Boxes destined for export must be clearly identified with quantity, variety name, colour mix and grade.
